Duke Gunnell Wins Mr. Bass of Arkansas Tournament
on Lake Ouachita

Duke Gunnell topped 83 Pro's fishing the first Mr. Bass Tournament
of 2008 by catching 5 bass that tipped the scales at 15.68 pounds.
Duke has been hot this year (as usual) and has had several high
finishes on Ouachita recently. The bite this weekend was only fair,
as rising water and cold 44 degree water have the fish positioned
deep. Here's how the top 3 pro's caught their fish:
1st - Duke Gunnell - 5 bass - 15.68 pounds - $3,270.00
Duke threw a Norman DLN, DD22, and a one ounce rattletrap to
catch his fish. His fish were positioned on the outside edge of the
grass.
2nd - Chris Husselton - 5 bass - 15.52 pounds - $1,488.00
Chris found a hot area near
Crystal Springs and hammered
them early. He threw a Norman
DLN and caught 10 keepers
on 13 casts on his first pass.
He went back to the area later
in the day but never got
another bite.

3rd - Dulin Smith - 5 bass - 15.44 pounds - $992
Dulin fished the South Fork,
where he threw Norman
Crankbaits (Chili Bowl) to
catch his bass.

selection to a black and blue jig. He drew Jamie Black on Sunday
and the rest is history. This was Tommy's first Mr. Bass of Arkansas
victory. Tommy also received the Landers Incentive ($500).
